Euro 2012 Stadia – Warsaw National Stadium

A new stadium is planned for Euro 2012 on the site of the crumbling 10th Anniversary Stadium – the former National Stadium of Poland, where sporting events and party rallies were held.

The stadium will have a capacity of around 55,000 and will incorporate a 15,000 seat indoor arena, an Olympic sized swimming pool and a modern hotel. Transport links via the subway system are also planned in time for Euro 2012. The completion date for the complex is tentatively scheduled for 2011.

The stadium will host the opening match of Euro 2012 along with a further 2 group games, a quarter final and a semi final.
