The foreign fans, going to visit the matches of the final part of European championship this summer, have already bought the tickets for the games, but they don't rush into booking the accommodation in host cities of Ukraine. The reason is extremely high cost of dwelling in the hotels. Nevertheless, the Ukrainian organizers of Euro 2012 assure: the country has enough places for accommodation of the guests of tournament at affordable costs.
An experienced football fan Ryan Chapman from British Cambridge, who used to visit several world championships, complains about extremely high cost of dwelling in Ukrainian capital. "I've already bought entrance ticket for match of my national team in Kiev, but I haven't reserved lodging yet, because I don't want to be deceived - the prices for flats and hotels are charged up by far. Being a British man and going to the match doesn't mean being rich. I'm just a football fan, and if I won't find a favourable variant of lodging, you will see me sleeping on a bus-stop or in metro", - Chapman says.
The Head of local organization committee "Euro 2012 Ukraine" Markiyan Lubkivsky, in his turn, claims with certainty: the foreign guests won't have to sleep in the street. Our country takes into account that 80% of fans coming for matches seek for low-cost lodging of lower rate. The other fans will live in more comfortable conditions. We are ready to welcome them all. According to our information, to the matches in Kiev, for instance, 60-65 thousand of people will arrive every day. All of them will be provided with lodging", - underlined Markiyan Lubkivsky.
At the same time he criticized sharply the tour operators and hoteliers, which jacked up the prices for hotel rooms during the period of Euro 2012, and he demanded to return the tariffs to the affordable level. "As negative information about lodging prices appeared, our main task is to identify the objects, classify them and check the verification of requirements of comfort and security, and - the most important thing - to inform a foreign customer in an accessible form, - noted Markiyan Lubkivsky. - Those who at different non-official web-sites offer lodging at excessive prices, should calm down and realize that the crisis influenced the paying capacity of fans".
The Director of local organization committee also remarked, that some tourist agencies and hotels have already optimized their offers. According to him, today in every host city of Ukraine you can find a low-cost lodging on condition of reservation for two nights as minimum.
More than 20 thousand rooms in total for fans of Euro 2012 are allocated in Kiev. Herewith the hostels are accessible at a price from 18 till 65 EUROs per night, hotels - from 27 up to 279 EUROs, sanatoriums - from 69 up to 115 EUROs and recreation camps - from 12 up to 80 EUROs. In Donetsk, where for the guests of the championship almost 10 thousand places are contracted, a night at a hostel will cost from 11 to 16 EURO per night, in a hotel - from 60 to 115 EUROs, in sanatorium - from 69 to 115 EUROs. In Lviv the fans will be suggested hotels at a cost of 23 up to 46 EUROs and sanatoriums - from 57 to 132 EUROs per night. In Kharkov for the period of Euro 2012 the hotel rooms at a cost of 92 to 253 EUROs are accessible for reservation.
Nevertheless, close to the beginning of European championship the prices for all types of lodgings in Ukrainian host cities will grow - notifies the head manager of project "Agency of Euro 2012 funs lodging": "The closer is the tournament, the higher costs for dwelling will be. We will try to regulate the prices. If the lodgings sell badly, we will lower the prices. It's in our interests, that football fans had pleasant impressions of Ukraine and came back to us again".
